I hope that you laughed as hard as I did when I answered those questions! Now on to a pressing issue: DID Ma'Khia Bryant have to die? It's time to say her name too!
Wow...look at that beautiful smile on that child's face. And why is his face blurred in this picture? Is he scared? There she was, being shot 4 times in the chest by a white police officer. No, I take that back. Not an officer...just the damn PoPo. Myself, like 600,000 Facebook followers, observed a by-stander's video before it was "big"news" and saw the aftermath of the shooting. I saw the reactions of those standing around. Some were outside when the shooting occurred, some were inside. The particular video that I am referring to was taken by someone who had heard the shots and ran outside where her two year old daughter was playing.
The body had been removed but the people were incensed. One particular gentlemen asked the police did they know what deescalation was. Another person suggested that deadly force should have not been used. I heard them say that Ma'Kia had called the police and died as a result of it. How many times has that happened to black people?
When the neighbors confronted the policeman his response was " she had a knife." Really? Didn't Kyle Rittenhouse kill two people, walk by the police with with a rifle who gave him water and told him that they were proud of him? He was bragging that he had just killed two people! And this PoPo guy couldn't tackle her? They tackle people often. If you don't believe me, ask the millions of black men who have been tackled by the police. He couldn't have used his taser? The mayor and the police chief state that this unknown PoPo had been trained to shoot at the "center mass" and not a leg, arm or foot. Straight up bullshit! Did she deserve deadly force? No! By the way, isn't Rittenhouse out on bail, enjoying his life.
I am not saying that it was right to have a knife. Any one black who has a knife in their hand after calling the police (allegedly Ma'Khia called) should know not to have a knife when the police show up. But, this was a child. The mayor stated that the "community" should come together to discuss why any child would feel compelled to fight. Well, any kid is compelled to fight if necessary. That is part of living and learning the art of war.
There are some things that need to go backwards. For instance, back in the day, we would fight and whomever got their ass beat would go home and cry. The next day, it was acknowledged who won, respect was given, and we went on about our business. So it's not that kid's should not fight. It's how they fight. What happened to fist to cuff? Using your own hands in a fight. If that were the case, there would be less black on black violence. Instead, they have resorted to knives and guns. Why? Because they are sold to the black community readily and handily. The PoPo could have handled it differently.
My final thought is...would she have gotten shot and killed if she were white? I think that we all know that answer to that!
